About the opportunity
The Associate Director of Digital and Data plays a vital role in leading the delivery of the Society’s digital ambitions, driving digital transformation and data driven success. You will lead the development and execution of the Society’s digital strategy, oversee product management to deliver innovative solutions, and design robust digital solutions that ensure compliance and security.
This role also champions data governance and promotes a culture of innovation, while operating as a trusted advisor to various directorates within the Alzheimer’s society. You will take a data driven approach to empower the organisation to harness technology for growth and enhance customer experiences. Your leadership will enable the Society to leverage data and digital technology to bring operational improvements, efficiency and innovation to transform how we deliver our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Deliver Digital and Data Strategies: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital and data strategy aligned with our organisational goals. You will bring experience from a similar role where you’ve successfully achieved this before.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire teams of UX designers, product managers, and technical experts. Foster a collaborative environment and ensure the digital team aligns with the organisation’s broader technology goals.
- Technology Integration and Awareness: Possess a deep understanding of how technology integrates within a business context. You will need to effectively communicate with leadership, secure buy-in for data and digital initiatives, and navigate the complexities of a charitable organisations’ governance and funding processes.
- Product and Strategy Leadership: Establish and manage a team to deliver on the digital strategy. Set up product management frameworks and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring digital and data efforts are aligned and effective.
- Agile Leadership: Understand how engineering and product management teams operate within an agile framework. You will need to work with suppliers and digital agencies to drive digital transformation effectively.
- Governance and Strategy Development: Develop robust business cases that align with our strategy and demonstrate the impact of digital transformation. Engage with stakeholders across directorates to secure buy-in and drive strategic initiatives.
- Leverage the unique aspects of our organisation to create integrated digital solutions, from app development to emerging tech adoption. Your strategic mindset will help bridge the gap between digital, data, and business outcomes.
Desired Experience
- A proven track record in a similar role (e.g. Senior Product Manager, Programme Manager, or Head of Product within a digital or tech-driven environment).
- Experienced in leading organisation wide digital transformation initiatives, particularly within the healthcare, charity, or integrated care services.
- A strategic mindset, incorporating digital, data, and business strategy and an ability to effectively communicate this vision with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working with engineering, product management, and digital teams.
- Experience with governance processes and developing compelling business cases to secure funding and support for digital initiatives.
